HDW warehouse layout

HDW Nederland specialises in the sale, leasing and maintenance of aerial work platforms in Western and Eastern Europe. At the time of its move, the company wanted to set up its new shuttle warehouse as efficiently as possible. This is how they ended up with eff-fill services, via the supplier of their warehouse system.

Project details

date 2020-03
  • 1 x Kardex Shuttle XP 500
  • 42 drawers filled (3,650 x 864)
  • 3,019 different parts
  • Vertical space used: 6,050 mm
  • Layout equipment: Kardex VLM boxes (Sumobox) and comb strips

“After an initial meeting with Jan, it was immediately clear that his services would add value to our move”, says Arie Nugteren, Spare Parts Sales Manager at HDW. “During the preparation, Jan gave a clear and concise explanation of what was expected of us, based on a few examples, and more specifically, which data was required to proceed properly. As soon as the plan of action was ready, Jan discussed it with us and then followed it up remotely at our request via TeamViewer. That went flawlessly and we were very pleased with this way of working. Because of the coronavirus, we spread out the ultimate move somewhat in time, but in the end, we are very satisfied with the result, which is exactly as Jan had told us.”

“It is not the case that when you work with eff-fill you transfer control of everything”, notes Arie. “There are still a number of things you have to prepare yourself. But eff-fill was the missing piece that enabled the entire move to go quickly, efficiently and coherently.”
